    2008 G6 GT Tune

Just tuned my new G6 today. The stock trans shifts were super soft, now they are just firm enough at part throttle, and quite firm at WOT. I reduced the upshift torque reduction by 50%.

I disabled the AFR & Variable Cam spark tables, then remapped the main spark tables. Of course the knock sensors had to be desensitized even though the spark timing is conservative using 90 octane fuel.

The car is much more responsive now!

I assume this is with the 3.5L
I'd like to see what you'd do with a 3.6L Russ.

The 2007+ 3.5 engines are supported. In 2006, only the 3.9 engines are supported.

    Very nice!

Did you get a stock tune baseline by any chance?
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

No I didn't, stock is probably high 14s. I could have tried a stock tune at the track that night but it's such a PITA having to upload a 3.5MB file. Also this is a new car under warranty and I get real nervous flashing the ECM and TCM. These are the current 1/4 miles at G6performance for the 3.6VVT G6. The other members have an off the shelf tune with a CAI and catback. Again, I just have a personal tune with no other mods, so 4th place isn't bad.

    1) 14.199 @ 97.42 - 3.6gtp
    2) 14.209 @ 98.61 - steelgraygtp VMS ECM, CAI

Definitely can't complain with a solid 4th place with just a tune.

It's mind boggling with the amount of data I have access to in the 3.5MB G6 compared to my 512Kb Regal bin. But the HP Tuners definetly help eliminate allot of the lag associated with the electronic throttle. Good job guys!

DLCLARK, can you post your factory untuned data as well? I have a CTS with 3.6 CVVT and I would like to compare your stock 3.6 to my stock 3.6, and then depending on how similiar they are use your tune as a possible starting point for my tune. Thanks.
