Pro (hack) tune vs. correct tune power

How much extra or difference in HP and torque is there between these "pro" tunes where they just hack the IFR table and spark tables and a correct tune doing the VE, MAF etc.

Seriously it can vary from 0+/- on up, from my understanding back in the day before HP Tuners hit the market the options available didn't give you access to the tables needed to properly tune the VE tables & such.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

I recntly did a 2004 GTO that was previously tuned (hacked). I baselined it at 310rwhp or so, after I tuned it (this is why it was brought to me) it put down ~340rwhp! In the hands of a compotent tuner, you will see great gains versus a hack job.

I am sure that the car felt alot better through out the entire band after you tuned it. We finally have the tools to correctly tune the car, no reason to go to the shop around the corner to just tune the WOT anymore

If the shop is tuning by IFR then find a new shop. You will never "get what you paid for" that way.
