    electronic throttle control

im just wondering what this does and why everyone has it disabled. my stock tune has values of 4 5 6 and 10 but i do have it set to max so it is disabled. when i set it back to stock i really cant tell any difference in the way it runs. should i leave it maxed out or put it back to stock? my car is cammed and CAI 2 inch long tubes LS3. Thank you

How can anyone help with no info? You haven't stated what year/make/model, what operating system, what table or parameter you're talking about, nothing.

So gotta resort to the crystal ball method.

LOL Actually I don't. I don't know what you're talking about. You know the standard procedure here is post a tune and/or data log. I have no idea if you're talking about a car, a truck, etc.

I have an LS3 and your question raised my curiosity because I never heard it before. I looked at my tune and the electronic throttle section and what I believe is that it is a programable way to calibrate the DBW or electronic throttle. Mine is not disabled and is based on RPM and a normal table of progressive values related to throttle opening. The only thing disabled on my tune is brakes limit progression. My sense is this programming is very specific to throttle hardware and driving modes. There are several cautions that you can brick the ECU or confuse the TCM if you mess with the programming. I would totally look away from this programming section unless I were trying to solve a throttle body mis-operation. Good Luck.

please forgive me for assuming you knew what i was talking about. the table is under electronic throttle and its the area rate limits table. every tune ive seen has this table maxed out at 100. 2014 chevy ss (holden) stock tune there are values that i previously spoke about. there is a 1 in all gears for 1000 rpm column a 6 inall gears in the 2000 rpm colunm except first gear is a 5 and then all other values are a 10 and the table stops at 5000 rpm

Yes most people max this table out to 100 (I also have a 14 SS sedan). Just don't change the Desired Throttle Area Map tables in the same tab.
A standard approach will give you standard results.

Throttle area limits table dictates how far (in percent) your throttle will open when commanded based on RPM VS GEAR if i recall correctly. So if it says "4" in the cell thats 1st gear and 1000 rpm, then your throttle blade wont physically open more than 4% at that RPM while in that specific gear.....

its an area rate ? so it will only allow a curtain rate of area per rpm interval based on the value, so it dosnt limit the throttle but just limits how fast it will open at those rpms to smooth it

No worries buddy. The crystal ball is my standard reply to posts asking vague questions with no tune file or data log. Don't take it personal.
