2002 Jeep WJ 4.7 PCM VIN Change possible?
My current PCM is on the way out, it has left me stranded twice now when it got cold out.
When its acting up I can't connect to PCM at and all the dash gauges are dead, tested with a known good one and problem is 100% in the PCM
Last time it was dead for 3 days so I put it in the toaster oven at 150F for 15 mins and it has worked for the last two weeks with no issue, I suspect some bad or corroded soldering joints inside.
I'm afraid its going to randomly stop working on me at some point, so I bought a PCM (same part number) form a local junk yard.
I have the PIN code to get into the SKIM Module to send the secret key to the PCM however I cannot change the VIN programed into the junk yard PCM.
So I get a VIN mismatch error and the security shuts the vehicle down after 2 secs.
2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7 JTEC Non-HO
PCM part# 56044810AG
Is it possible to download the failing PCM software and then re-flash it to the junk yard PCM so that it has the same VIN?
Or any other way to change the VIN with VCM Suite?
I'm assuming I need to buy 2 credits one for junkyard PCM VIN and one for original PCM VIN.
I just want to be sure it has that capabilities before spending the money.
Thank you in advance.
