    E38 manual transmission speedo

    Hello, I just swapped a tkx into my ls swap, I am using a ecm operating system 12617631 and have the trans set to manual, I have the speed sensor wired directly to the ecm lins 71 and 72, my speedo is stuck reading 255km/hr. Is there a way to get the speedo to read correctly

    I had this same question and it has been answered here several times. An E83 with an automatic transmission operating system cannot get VSS from anywhere besides the TCM. The pins in the ECM do not work. The manual selection in HP tuners does not do anything. Seems the guidance on this forum has been to go get a VIN and an operating system that started out with a manual transmission.

    Thank you for the reply, i was kinda hoping that over the last few years they may have come up with a os code patch to get this to work without having to licence another ecm.
