I've had luck with unplugging the connectors from the ECU with my E40.
Do you have a BCM or just the E40 Ecu? I didn't think there was any way to tell the E40 without a BCM that the AC was on. I struggle with the same AC surging and would LOVE to find a way to smooth...

How is that calculated? Mine have been logged consistently in the 330 F range - 165 C.
Edit - did some searching and many people are reporting normal IVT to be in the ~300's F range.

So I forced it into high speed mode and got it to run by reducing that "run before MAF test" variable. It is set to 2.0 seconds default and I reduced to 0 seconds.
