I was looking into this, too because I wanted to use it to test things like 60' and 1/8 mile. I thought I could log the "Distance Since Last Cleared" PID, but it only seems to update from the PCM...
Thanks Greg.
I completely agree and I found the primary issue. With the slow rolling speed, it was using the main spark table (not idle table), and when the RPM dipped, the timing dropped...
That's my thought.
100%. But why is idle adapt not kicking in to save the stall?
Plugged in Greg's numbers, took an educated guess at my scalars for the VE table, and think I got pretty close with STFTs being mostly single-digit. I have some refining to do, but am putting this...
Before I dump your data in and begin the re-tuning process, would you recommend swapping to the Bosch injectors (as recommended by FIC) or is there not much difference in reliability to the Deka?
Gotcha, thanks.
Did you mean to post something else? Because that picture shows exactly what I had.
This is what I changed them to:
Following up after several more logs, and no disconnecting issues. One of those was 20 minutes long.
I had lowered the RPM table but I see that was a bad move and luckily I didn't cause any damage.
The timing was kept very conservative to try to keep the power close to 600whp since it's a stock...
Did a highway pull yesterday and was shocked to see that my commanded AFR was still stoich upon full throttle and passing through 100kPa. It remained 13.77 (1.07) until 5200rpm and 8psi of boost. I...
Per the suggestion, I removed about 10 channels that I wasn't actively using and I have successfully had 2 back-to-back 10-minute logs without disconnecting. Not ready to call it resolved yet, but...
I took Ed's advice and put high vacuum on the BOV to see if there was any change in manifold pressure, and there was none, so no need to change the spring.
FWIW, this is the venturi I mentioned...
Not fun!
You must've been talking with my wife.
I'm not against it and with regard to re-doing the VE, I can probably just apply a multiplier to a good portion of the map and get very close. I'll try...
Is this behavior of inconsistent values normal? The number in the PID list on the left does not match what is shown in the histogram value. I highlighted the throttle position, but you can see...
If a CSV is exported, opened & saved, it does not open back up in VCM Scanner.
I've found that you need to go into the csv with a text editor and remove all the unnecessary commas, then save it, and...
oh, my bad.
You're cherry-picking on a log I posted yesterday after severely changing some idle VE regions. Those were only changed to try to chase down the stalls caused by negative STIT. Those cells were put...
Are you asking me? Because I honestly don't know the answer to that question. That's why I'm here.
These aren't problems...they're minor quirks. And I paid him to work a specific portion of the map (see above response).
Now, if I left the dyno and it was running too rich or too lean and knocking...
*here
Because he's 90 minutes away and I'm trying to get advice from a general community to learn and fix this on my own. Is that not the purpose of this forum?
The individual being super...
But don't trust the guy who is highly regarded in the tuning community with 35-40 years of tuning experience, right?
One thing that is very evident is that every professional tuner seems to have...
Do you think this is false knock from the very low timing and unburnt fuel? I actually encountered this when I was first getting my base tune up and had timing that was too conservative in...
You've given me a couple pointers that I greatly appreciate, but by and large you are a pretty negative person and I am kindly asking that you refrain from responding to my posts (in ALL my threads)...
