5.3 with stage 2 cam
Trying to tune for my friend his 5.3 with a 218/227 112+2, .522/.524 lift otherwise the motor is completely stock. I got it drivable, but it isn't very consistant. sometimes it hesitates off the line. Sometimes it takes off like a banshie. Looking for advice to wake it up properly for him

Hey Im curious what cam is that? Is it using stock springs still?
.522 is pretty low- its what I am looking for. Must be a truck cam but if you can get the part number that'd be great!

SUM-8701r1 from summit racing

From everything I've seen you'll want to stay below a .500" lift on the smaller engines - everything over or right at seems to kill port velocity and kill bottom end. The summit cams are decent cams - not big power cams, but sound good.

These earlier gens always seem to run better on SD - your SD table is WAY off and you need to make your primary and secondary tables match. Your timing table is ramping in good, but keep in mind due to flame propagation any timing in the engine around 3600 rpms it should be able to run in the higher rpms above that.

Going to want bigger injectors too once you start going above 5,500rpm. Start over on the VE stuff.

That is essentially the old GM hot cam. Bigger than most other Stage 2 cams.
