so as my basket case luck continues. I have a 2k t/a auto {4l80e swapped} stock long block, fast 102 intake, fast 102 tb, CLSD, 3400 stall. 3.73 gears, 42 lb injectors {ls7} blah blah. this car negates the iac at idle when warm. hangs the idle. All of the air flow tables are below stock tables to get the car to bring itself down. it's idling in part at 13 degree's, commanded 18, stock. in gear,20, commanded 28, stock.
Idle adaptives shut off, cracker shut off, followers shut off. it will NOT bring itself down. With SD it's a pain in the ass to find leaks without noise associated with them.
Is the Tb too much for it to handle? The tps voltage is at .43. i can remove the idle screw, and it does not change a thing, which is what prompted me to a leak somewhere. I am running out of patients and idea's fast.

the throttle cam is adjustable on these tb's, make sure with the throttle stop bottomed out that the blade actually is too. I have seen a few guys manipulate the blade to get it to idle

Ah, didn't even think about this. It shouldn't take an entire idle airflow manipulation to get this thing to idle on a stock cam anyways. thanks for the idea on where to start!

while your there check to make sure someone hasn't drilled a golf ball sized he in it too

thats the plan this evening. its been on a limp along file for a few days while i was trying to find the issue. aside from pressure testing the whole damn thing, this is easier to mess with. much appreciated!

so as luck would have it, it's not the TB. pulled the iac and tps harness, pulled the air intake tube. started it up. plugged the iac hole, breather vent tube hole, un hooked the tb cables, plugged the side port in the manifold, then ran out of fingers. another guy held a plastic lid up to the coupler on the tb that was still there and it got sucked up to it very tightly. Still running...
needless to say it's a fairly good sized leak somewhere else.

could this be a case of the fast intake hitting the original intake bolts and not sealing properly? Isn't there some deal about the fast intake not sealing correctly with the original intake manifold bolts. Maybe i'm wrong.

from what i can see, it is all button head bolts on the valley pan. you can slide paper between the water pump and the bottom of the manifold as well. so it's not that. i can not say what was done on the backside of the pan though.

I would pull the intake now, these are known for the intake bolts under bottom of intake to"work" loose
