Surging/bucking on 2017 Camaro SS M6 w/ Procharger D1SC after TB replacement

So my original ported 87mm TB died after almost 4 years, it was a ported unit from a reputable vendor. I replaced it with another 87mm ported TB from Soler performance. The new TB is a nice unit, but it is causing some issues with the tune now. I have swapped back to a bone stock OEM 87mm TB and the issue goes away with the bucking and surging. The data logs show the new Soler TB is flowing more air so I would rather use it but I am at a loss as to what is causing the bucking. It only happens at very light throttle input.

Car is a M6, so in the example I will be in 4th at around 2k rpm and going 45mph. You can hear and slightly feel the car bucking a bit. Soler Performance said they think it is a timing issue, I tried moving the timing up and down in the affected area with no change. Is this a Driver Demand issue or a VE table issue?

Some of those Soler TB's are notorious for allowing too much air at part throttle and you get into surging issues. This even happens on non supercharged cars. They are a REAL PITA to tune and I no longer recommend them because of it. I won't even try to tune a poorly ported TB because its unlikely to ever get it right. You're better off going with a tried and true Mamo or Katech. The new Mamo V2 is probably the best flowing 87mm ported TB. The little scallops in the Soler stuff cause all sorts of problems with part throttle airflow. Send it back and get one with less cuts for part throttle airflow or just return it and go Mamo or Katech or even Pray Performance and don't waste time chasing your tail with that thing.

First time I seen the cuts in the solar TB I was like dear lord what the heck are they doing...

I was worried about those cuts as well. You confirmed my hunch, the TB is messing with the off idle to part throttle map way too much. I am going to get with Soler and see if they will take it back.

As much as I want to use Pray (again) that was the unit that failed, now he is super backed up and months out. I have ported some of my OEM myself and smoother the ridges on the entrance, the data logs show it works just fine and only needs a slight revision to the MAF table to get the A/F in check. That I can handle myself. I may just go that route until I do the heads/cam/intake manifold and TB upgrade next year.

I always recommend Mamo's stuff now. Some of the big name shops exclusively use him and he's been around for quite a while.

So I pulled the Soler TB off and put my lightly massaged/ported stock TB back on the car. Drove it for 2 days and then while coming home last night at 60mph I went from 6th to 3rd and rolled the throttle WOT. Car pulled hard for 2-3 seconds, then fell flat on its face and went into limp mode. Got home and only had a code of P06A3, the last time I got a code of P0123 and the P06A3. So I tried to clear the fault and no go. its a hard fault. I tried to unplug the battery and the TB connector and let reset and then plugged it all back in, no go. Grabbed the spare TB I have from my 16 GMC Sierra 6.2 truck (they use the TB) and got it bolted into the car. The code cleared and the car fired right up and drove fine.

Is this a fluke or what??? 2 TB in 2 months, I am hoping its a fluke. The harness looks fine from what I can see. I am going to log the 0-5 and the 5-0 volt channels for the TB and see if there are any abnormalities in the log. I went ahead and shipped the Soler TB back yesterday (very stand up company) and ordered the Mamo V2, I even spoke with Tony a bit last night and he didnt have any input on the issue either. I am wondering now if there is some sort of issue with the Procharger or the BOV causing a rush of airflow to hit the TB and over rotate it?

I am going to put a new accelerator pedal in the car as well just to rule it out. Anyone else have any suggestions?
