Any benefit to going closed loop?

My car is running great in OL MAF, no problems whatsoever, tuned by wideband.

Is there any benefit to going into closed loop?

Will it save gas or anything like that that? (been told that)

    cam+bolt on ls1.

I am running a cam with a lot of overlap (111 lsa), I've heard that the overlap will confuse my o2 sensors as they won't be able to register fast enough and may cause problems.

    heres a thought,

you could go into your PE table and put the TPS position to enable at 0% throttle position for 1200 RPMs and below. Then enable closed loop mode. This way when the car idles it will be in open loop PE mode and you can set the power enrichment tables below 1200 RPMs to 0 (or it might be 1.00). The car will not do an LTFT or STFT adjustments at an idle. Then when you step on the gas the car will go back into closed loop operation mode. Then once you have this down you can go into your O2 voltage settings and change them so they lean out just a touch on average to make up for the cam overlap at all other RPM's.

IMO, closed loop and DFCO saves fuel mileage.

I have not seen any advantage on my car with DFCO on for fuel savings nor with closed loop enabled. If you have a good tune on the car, it wont matter, or at least be a measurable amount.
