Some history: Once the car was put together, I immediately took it to a local tuner to get it dialed in. He had a ton of issues adjusting fuel and blamed the fuel pump although fuel pressure remained pretty steady at 58psi. It was an old tired fuel pump so I took it home and immediately freshened it up just for piece of mind. Back on the dyno, he still had issues. He charged me full price and gave me the car back basically incomplete.
I decided to tune the car myself since I had done all the work on the car myself anyway. I read/watched a lot of resources that are available thanks to this forum and I feel like I understand what I need to do but unfortunately the car still does not want to cooperate.
1. The car runs rich everywhere. it is constantly hovering around 10-12 AFR whether its driving under load, idling and decelerating.
2. I am attempting to adjust the VE table and have disabled the MAF to do it. It seems like the changes I am making on that table doesn't help and still runs incredibly rich. I switched the table back to the stock VE table and it immediately throws a code and reduces engine power the moment I start the car.
3. Idle stays above 1500 rpm when I let off the clutch and only goes back to commanded 900 RPM when I am at a full stop. Where can I adjust this?
I am slightly frustrated but this is a learning experience for me and I definitely don't want to give up. Thanks for everyones time.
