    dod delete gone weird...

Hey ya'll working on an 07 vortec max 6.0.. did the "gm performance" dod delete from jegs.. everything went great.. but no cam sensor reading.. changed the cover when doing the swap.. tuned dod out of the ecm.. changed the sensor twice, changed the wiring, double checked the wiring, getting 5 v reference to the sensor... prodemand led me to ecm.. changed it... same thing.. ready to pull my hair out!!! Jegs "tech" says to check the clearance between the sensor and cam gear. maybe a bead cover... any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!

Do you happen to remember the way you installed the cam gear - did it have 3 windows in the sprocket facing outward? All terminals in place in the connector and not backed out? Happen to have a pic of the cam install? All the grounds hooked up? One going to bulkhead or firewall beside the brake booster in particular.

I lined up the cam gear to the crank gear. I don't have pics of the cam gear. All the terminals are good.. wires are good to the ecm.. and back..

You installed the cam sprocket as shown in the top pic? Shouldn't have had any metal around the head of the bolt. Do you have the part number for the whole kit and the cover used?

Did the little jumper harness on the timing cover change? Some of these are wired backwards for some reason.

Thanks guys!!!!!! Mr. Alvin that is exactly what happened!!! I eliminated the jumper because of the extra plug on it. wanted to keep it as clean as possible! Did not know they reversed on that jumper!

It saves some aggravation just to snip the solenoid wires off of the original pigtail and use it - this way original connector can be used. Just make sure to tape the ends of the cuts off. That was where I was going after confirming correct install of mechanical components... It's also possible to install that front cover off center and cause drop out problems, but usually has to be all the way to the right.
