mpvi2 wont connect to 2014 challenger

Maybe I messed up somehow but i deleted everything I downloaded from the site and used the usb that came in the box. Then it updated and I was able to connect.


this is a new unit, i installed all software and drivers.
i registered the mpvi2 on my account and have my credits.

- using scanner or editor i get a message "unable to detect vehicles diagnostics protocol"
* i tried on a different vehicle (2009 jeep wrangler) and its the exact same issue

i emailed support but maybe im just missing something that someone can help point out.
