    LS2 MAF Tuning Plot Filtering Question

    This weekend I plan on doing some extensive tuning. In order to dial in / Cal the MAF Hi / Lo Freq's I have the attached cfg file. I'm basically have the following Histograms loaded.

    1. Main Spark - Timing Advance
    2. Main Spark - Knock Retard
    3. Maf Freq Lo - LTFT
    4. Maf Freq Hi - LTFT
    5. Maf Freq Lo - AFR
    6. Maf Freq Hi - AFR
    7. Maf Freq Lo - AFR % Error
    8. Maf Freq Hi - AFR % Error

    My questions are:

    1. Do any of these Histograms need any plot filtering and/or Cell Hit Count?
    2. If I'm using a wideband, after scanning do I paste special the AFR % Error to the Hi / Lo Freq Tables?
    3. If not using a wibeband, how do I apply the changes in the editor?
    4. Should I use LTFT or STFT if not using a WB?

    Sorry for all the questions, but I can't find much tuning info for the E40 PCM's that is newb friendly. Your help is greatly appreciated.

    Let me know if you need any other info.

    1a) To have MAF Hi you need to filter any MAF Hz below 5800 out of the table.
    1b) I like to have a "few" hits in a cell before I call it "learned". It's hard to get an average of 1.
    2) Yes
    3) LTFT and add a filter to the HI table like Commanded AFR PID# >=14.6
    4) STFT with filtering of at least 10-20 cell hits to get a good average. I like to have at least 50 cell hits when doing MAF. (a bit less at high RPM... )

    Then, are my histograms correct above if tuning with a WB?

    So Basically all I need for those histograms are the following filters

    MAF Hi LTFT: [SENS.80] > 5800 [PID.6000]>=14.6
    MAF Lo LTFT: [SENS.80] < 5800
    MAF Hi AFR Error: [SENS.80] > 5800

    Now if I'm tuning without a WB I should go ahead and do the following:

    Maf Hi STFT: [SENS.80] > 5800 [PID.6000]>=14.6
    Maf Lo STFT: [SENS.80] < 5800

    Yep, you want to use the AFR Error histos if you are wideband tuning. If you are in open loop that is.

    If closed loop monitoring AFR ERR%, then add: "AND [PID.6000]<14.6" that way it filters out the closed loop LTFT/STFT stuff and only logs AFR Error% when you are in PE.
