What is the best year PCM and OS for LS1 DBW swap?

I?m doing a LS1 swap with drive by wire. I need to buy a PCM and choose an operating system.

Is there a best or preferred year Corvette PCM/OS I should use?

Physically that are all pretty much the same P01. The OS just needs to be a vette version

What is "P01"?

Any reason a 2004 is better that a 2003, 2002, or 2001? I'm looking to buy the PCM once and not have to update OS and pay additional credits, if possible.

There is no difference between the PCM's themselves. The OS is also the same. It's just the tune that may be a tad different from year to year. P01 is the PCM model like E38 for the newer cars.

Thanks for the clarification. I thought that the 0411 was replaced in 2004? Any advantage to the 2004 PCM?

I believe all Gen3 motors used the same physical PCM minus the 1998. Just the OS was different.

Looking at some stock tunes from the repository, it looks like they switched to a "P59" PCM in 2004. Any info on significant differences between the P01 and P59?

Different pinout. Blue/Green(P59) vs Blue/Red(P01) connectors. P01 had 512kB memory and P59 had 1MB.

Just use the P01/0411 PCM and LS1/LS6 vette type harness. Don't over think it.
