I am running 2.24, which does everything i need for now. But when i tried to open some files from the repository (older files) it isnt allowing me, saying my software version is too old. What gives?

I would go out on a limb and say your software is too old. V3 has been out for a while now
V3 can open older files. 2.24 cannot open newer ones.

How is it a file that worked before doesnt work now. That makes no sense. Can i download the new version and keep the old at the same time?

Weird. I have no answer for that one.
Well it should be obvious all the files in the repository have been read, resaved with V3.xx and reposted to the repository. It's their repository so I guess they can do whatever they want with it. Seem a silly move to me.
Yep, I can confirm that the stock tune that I uploaded to the repository ("captured" with 2.24) can no longer be opened in 2.24. So, as mentioned above, they must have went through and "converted" all tune files on the Repository to 3.x format...
Is there any benefit to tune files being in 3.x format? I mean, if you are using the 3.x editor software, it can still load 2.x tune files, so I'm wondering why they even bothered converting the files unless there is some sort of benefit?
They are less than half the size in the new format, saving space and bandwidth.
Many of the 2.x files were 4MB+ and are now 500KB.
