There's no resolution issues with the ls9 map sensor....
Back in the Gen 3 days sure you may give up some resolution, but not now

prices on the ls9 map sensor seem to be all over the place....any recommendation on where to buy ($28 up $75)
btw: does anyone have a link to the maf pinouts? tia
another question: what 6 speed is in this vehicle? ?

I'd say most just buy straight from a dealership or a Ac Delco parts seller.
6L80e is the only 6 speed transmission in the trucks.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.
If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.
ok, so I pulled the trigger on the harness and it`s on the way....

I hear you...I at least have the oem and some whipple tunes to LOOK at and try to understand.
the key seems to be in the torque management sections.....you can change traditional stuff to no avail.....driver demand, etc are some of the keys to the gen 5 system.....I am in the compare files stage and learning from there

The torque model in the calibration uses math very similar to that of the parametric VE. Other than that, we have small and vague clues about what affects the model but no real insight that says 'heres the physics models involved in making it work.' The flow chart about it is informative but not the most useful thing in the world.
here is absolutely everything I have found on the torque model

You can worry about how it works or you can choose to simply understand how each table affects your results, at least until we know how it works.
As long as I know that if I change A then B happens, then I'm good. Log the right information and you can figure it out. You think the GM cals are crazy, go learn the Coyote and especially EcoBoost stuff. It will really make you miss tuning that old 2002 Corvette......
for the moment, as my project rapidly approaches, I'm with Higgs on this.....I would like to get it nailed, safe and making decent power, I also miss my 1000 rwhp 03 Z06
Time to start a new thread on this latest project and try to figure things out....thanks everyone for the input so far

Thing is at least having the model itself means the tuning itself is more easily completed rather than cause and effect shots in the dark.
I didn't say they were crazy just that no one seems to be able to actually show us the model itself. The patents show some but not enough.
I live in town with whipple. I can tell you, they haven't figured it out. Their playing on a dyno just like everyone else... the torque model is jacked ... Cars are coming out of whipple with throttle jumpiness, lags, surges... I've pulled most of their brand new tunes. Trucks... Camaros.. chargers..jeeps...
Thanks,
Dustin
I wonder if they're still "updating" the IAT sensor curves like they used to..
Not sure what IAT they run but I compared the tune you posted vs. a regular WT382 sensor curve and they are very close at temps normally seen. Not exactly the same, but not way off either.

1. Yes
2. Not sure--some tunes have an IAT2 table but no IAT2 sensor. I assume it just isn't used in those cases but others probably know more
