Exclamation Anyway to put a 1999 FBody VIN into a 1998 FBody PCM?

    Hi guys,

Like the title says, is it possible to put a 1999 LS1 FBody VIN into a 1998 LS1 FBody PCM?

I tried using HP Tuners Version 2.24 and it gives me the error: "Invalid VIN and OS pair"

I tried beta 2.25 and it doesn't even give me an option to change the VIN. I haven't used Ver 3.0 yet.

The reason I need to do this is because I have a guy that put a 1998 Trans-Am Drivetrain into a 1999 Trans-Am Chassis. The VIN on the body and the PCM needs to match for his emission testing in his town.

    Anyway around this?

My computer vin and car vin don't match, my old tuner set it up that way changing operating systems. I know 98 is the funky year so Im not sure how that plays in to it.

Any hints to what that may be?

The products that don't use VIN/OS as part of their licensing scheme. About every other product out there. I'm not going to name competing products on HPT's forum.
