    Some knock

Looked at last nights ride home. Had a couple spots of knock, some seemed pretty bad. I wasn't getting on it at all and I'm running 93 oct. Am I bogging the car and its pinging or is something wrong with the car? Seems to run great otherwise.

    2001 ss, mostly stock.

I get knock in that 1500-2000 rpm area every now and then too in the higher gears. Pulled a couple of degrees out (I run a bit less timing down there than you look to be) and it's mostly gone but still pops up now and then. That's on 98 ron aussie fuel which is similar to your 93. It doesn't knock in the lower gears, so I've learned to just ignore it and let the knock sensors do their thing.

Think these motors just don't like running high load at low rpm. It doesn't take much throttle position to get to quite high loads at <2000 rpm in higher gears. Is your timing stock?
