    Drilling hole in throttle body after cam for idle

    Ok I have a Question perty new to tunning OK well this is what I have its a 04 5.3 lm7feul injection on a th400 tranny electronic control throttle just put a cam in and cant get it to idle I was told told to drll a hole in the throttle body for idling does it make sense to any body out there or should I just work on my tune some more or maybe the cam is to big

    cam specs lift.310, duration220, lobe center 114, center line 110, degrees of duration290

    86 C10 4x4 5.3vortec th400 tranny 3000stall 340 gear tires35x12.5r15

    Hell no, dont do that. Open up your TB some with the set screw and do a IAC relearn. Your cam is really small, no need to do any TB drilling.

    Do some searches on IAC relearn

    I agree, with a cam that size you shouldn't need a hole. There comes a point when I personally believe it's necessary but not for that 220 pattern cam in a 5.3L.

    Biggest tip I can offer, beyond what Ben Charles said about opening up the TB a little and doing the IAC/TPS relearn...is get a Torx 15 bit and flip the throttle blade set screw upside down. This may require taking the throttle body off.

    TH400, 3000 stall, 224 cam, 3.40 gears and 35" tires?

    You're hurting yourself on the lack of gearing btw.

    Yea, let us know when you find that set screw on that electronic throttle and have done that IAC relearn.

    Well there wasnt any way of getting inside the throttle body just worked on my tune harder and searched the tune repository for answers and all is good now
