    Simple diagnostic question

    When running diagnostics, and you bring up the current transmission gear. Is that actually the gear the car is in, or the gear the computer is commanding the car to go in? Reason I ask, my diagnostics say the car is in 4th, but car feels like 3rd, and RPM calculator says I'm in 3rd.

    Another way.... watch the commanded gear in the scanner, when it goes from 3rd to 4th, does the RPM drop? If not, it isnt shifting. Either a solenoid, or your 3/4 clutchpack. How many miles?
