Forget the MBC, anyone that tried one took it off. I'd go with the TF base tune file to get the WG DC up to 95% or adjust your WG rod for more boost. You have some kind of issue for sure.

Have you tried shortening your wastegate rod?

No i have left it alone, i thought about messing with it while back. Whats kind of problems are people having with MBC's? I have looked into getting a trifecta underlay for wg and a selectable set up. Guess this may have to happen really soon.

Contact Terminator2 & BYT, they both have tried to run them, went back to the ECU control, smoother & ran better overall from what I remember compared to the MBC.

You can shorten your WG rod a few turns for free, perhaps it came loose or was never set properly? The shorter you make it, the less the WG opens. You can still lower your DAL's to control boost if it gets too high.

Adjusted the wastegate rod And bam! Lol 24psi till about 5200rpms. Bad thing is it still tapers to about 17psi at redline. Car is stupid in third gear now spinning up to almost 85mph on a 60-100 pull. Had one spike of 3* kr at 4700 so I'm pulling a little timing out there. VE is up to 28lb/min and seeing over 300% load on the boost spike. Commanding .88 lambda but still pulling .86 so working that a little. Il post a log up later but dropped the 60-100 time by over half a second. I guess these factory wastgate springs get weak after a while. Would be cool to test it with a after market WG with like a 18psi spring and see if we could get rid of the stupid amount of boost drop we get.

The turbo protection built into the OS drops the boost some, if you look at wastegate duty cycle you will see it hit 95% to get to your DAL at like 3k to 3500, then taper to control until the turbo starts to get out of it's efficiency range at 5k or so. The 'other' base tune lets the WG DC stay at 95% up top but it still drops boost almost as much. It might hold one more PSI up top, that's about all.

Glad you found some more flow.

Yea i knew there was something built into the ECM that protected the turbo. Wish Hp would open up some more support for these cars soon. Oh by the way no one happens to have a extra coil pack for sale do they? Right after i fixed everything else #2 coil pack took a shit on me and wont fire under load, swapped it to #1 to verify it and misfires confirmed it.

The guy that bought BBG's Cobalt has a parts thread on CSS, he's got a lot of stuff pretty cheap.

got a coil pack. runs good now holds 247kpa till 5700rpms then tapers to 225 at redline i need to convert that but its a hell of a lot better then before. did melt a spark plug at that boost... guess i need to lower timing a little up top bur its only 17 degrees up there on normal gas... cant wait to run some e85 in it..

I melted #2 last week on a stock AC Delco plug, so I backed my E60 timing down to 23* on Term's recommendation & went back to the 3787's. Funny thing was I hadn't really been hitting it hard. 5k on the plugs. I have been logging every day for the last month and never showed high load KR. Perhaps I cracked the insulator checking the gap?

Consider going colder on the plugs sometime.

I do not like my 3787s, they seem to have low load issues compared to stock plugs, they only have a few k on them even. I know that zzp along with other people seem to be a big fan of the stockers gapped to 030. I know thats what they went 11s on.
