    Question 98 Turbo Firebird 3.8L

Working on another 3.8L turbo setup.

Changed a few things and it's making some new challanges.

I used a LS1 throttlebody which means there's no MAF there.

I used a 3" LT1 MAF pre-turbo. There was a few tweaks to the MAF table

but it was fairly close once I got my injector size setup good.

Now.. On the 98 3.8L there are no perameters for IAC that I can find.

With the MAF that far away from the throttlebody and a big 4" thick IC up

front I'm having a stalling problem if you load it up and then let off the

throttle quickly. I'm sure it's all that air going backwards at the MAF.

I know the answer is going to be a big Blow Off Valve. Which I don't normally

use at all on a Auto Car. Two of the other similar cars with stock MAF at

throttle body work great.. no stalling.

I'm always looking for new ways to try things and parts. So far it's all worked

out great except for the high load/stall.

    Ideas?

well if the maf is pre turbo then it is reading the air the passes of it so it thinks the air is still on its way to the motor but when you let off the blow off valve vents that air to the atmosphere. So the motor didnt get the air but got all that fuel so it stalls. You need to rout the blow valve air back through the system before the maf or put the maf in the charge pipe after the blow off valve and before the TB.
