Got my 08 tuned by some moron who said he was a pro and now am slowly fixing the problems he induced.
One problem is that my truck knocks when using 89 or 91 octane unleaded gas and runs fine with super 93 octane gas. I guess it was not so bad because it is forcing me to learn a lot.

I just got my HPT recently so I can learn to tune my '09 Sierra Vmax, I'm glad I found this post! So far I've down loaded version 2.23, done the first read,the first log, & I'm currently doing my first edit using what I've learned on this forum; So far I've been able to adjust the speed limiter, but I need help with adjusting the Torque Management, if any one of you more experienced tuners here wouldn't mind giving me some pointers on TM adjustments I would really appreciate it, please PM me, or post a link that applies to this vehicle,or post a snapshop of the editor screen that deals with TM reduction? that would be great.

Hi Tom!! Nice to see you over here! I mostly read & lurk. There is a whole lot of info over here, so much that it gets overwhelming at times. But don't give up, you'll catch on.
For me, it all started with a crappy mail-order tune. Followed by another crappy one, and so on. Until I couldn't stand it anymore. I decided to get HPT and figure things out for myself. Best purchase I've made so far, by far. Once I started really learning how to use the software, I found out that my "tuned" pcm had a stock VE table. Does that sound right for a cammed/supercharged 5.3?? How did it even run?? With a raped PE table, that's how. Send me a pm if you want any more details than that.
Anyways, I'm currently working on my 2-bar OLSD tune. So far, things have been fairly straightforward. My VE table below 105kpa is nearly spot-on, and I just need to get the rest finished up. Truck mods listed below.
