    Knock decay

I was looking in my 'stock' bin and I found a table for knock decay, high load and low load. I noticed the low load decay is in the thousands of (I assume it's milliseconds) and the high load was in the tens or low hundreds. Can anyone tell my why the low load would be such a long decay? Is it something I can modify safely? I see some part throttle (cruise) knock and I'm looking at ways of mitigating or completely removing it. I've turned off the EGR and that made a significant improvement so far.

The decay is the amount of time before the knock event disappears. Raising the decay will make it go away quicker thus restoring timing to normal faster.

The decay rate is not in milliseconds. For every 45 units in HPT the recovery rate is approximately 1 degree/second. So the low octane table with it's higher values will give you a much more aggressive decay rate.

So, the higher the number, the faster it decays?
