    ve tunning issues

ok so i shut of the ses light for the maf, set maf fail freq to 0. Then i un plugged the maf. I am logging the ltft's in the histogram given. First of all the car wont idle. It tries to but it dies. All my ltft's in the 800 to 2400 rpm range are between -5 and -15. Am i doing something wrong.

I read somewhere that i have to copy my high octane table to my low octane, is this refering to the primary and secodary ve tables, or is this refering to the high/low octane main spark tables. I have not done this yet.

I do have a huge cam in the car maybe this has something to do with my issues??

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Ryan

i believe it is the VE primary and VE secondary tables that should be the same.

the Large cam would affect the VE values, but the stalling does not sound good.

sounds like the values are way out of line in that range.
have you Compaired your table to another simular make model with simular mods (like same / simular CAM) to see if your table is way out of whack?

    thats my recommendation.
    im still a HPT newbie

i did a search and found two similar cars(large cams) and all my values are way too high. in some areas there like 20 over. Maybe it will be easier to copy that table into my file and work from that. I am trying to upload my file and the two others but it wont let me for some reason.

im not sure if its adviseable to use someone else's table, i would say just review it so you have an idea of the diffrences.

you also said when you scanned the LTFT were between -5 and -15. take that table from the scan and multiply the % against the VE table in your tune.

i would disable LTFT and use your STFT
also reset the fuel trims after doing this then rescan again.

ok i disabled the ltft. I finally got the car to idle. Now im getting some mixed +'s and -"s. I am using the "[PID.68]>1.0" plot filter to filter out any unwanted data. Is it normal not to get any data above 4500 rpm?? My main issue now is that im not getting a smooth ve. I dont see how its possible to get the ve like the "good example" in the help file located in the editor. I am attaching my file. I will do a new scan and post it up tommorow to see where im at.

    Thanks,
    Ryan

are you over 26% TPS when your over 4600rpm?
if so then you are into the Power Enrich mode.

keep the TPS under 26 and you will get values for the over 4600rpm range.

this is why you need a WB to do it right. You are commanding a LOT of fuel for PE, you need a wb so you can set this up right.

what is wrong with the VE table?
