It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

Check out the help file under "Connecting to the Vehicle." It has a lot of useful information on the EIO connections.

I'm looking for the same thing. There are diagrams in the aforementioned section, but I don't see correlation to which side of the connector is Pin 1 on the interface ???
Under the help section, Connecting to the vehicle, Enhanced Input Output (IO) Vehicle Interface Unit, is the pin numbering and wire coloring.
As the white connector is keyed, it can only go on one way.
Use the wire colors to determine which channel or function you wish to connect to and use.
Lots of diagrams and information

Right... so are you saying that you need to open the case of the EIO and remove the connector that comes with it for the pigtail? If so, where is that documented?
OK, if I use a knife I can disconnect it w/o disrupting the case.
A knife???
The protection plug should pull straight out?
Ken
I realize that now But from the outside it looked like two clips which locked the plug in. Like a snap fit with a release.
Okay, I have the LM-1 and while your help file is specific, the output cable to the LM-1 has 3 wires. 2 colored and a stripped copper wire. The LM-1 directions are vague. I know you have used the LM-1 to test the HPtuner, can you just tell me what wires from the LM-1 I need to solder to the pigtail. Thanks.

The LM-1 manual shows which band on the plug,
is what. The tip is Output 1, second is Output 2
and shank is Gnd. I don't recall which wire is what
(and this would vary if you bought a cable from
Radio Shack or just scavenged one off a busted
set of Walkman headphones), but you could always
beep it out with your DMM.
My LM-1 analog output cable had red as output 1, white as output 2, and shield as ground.
Connect your the LM-1 shield to pin 5 (black) on the EIO. Then connect your LM-1 output 1 (or 2, your choice) to one of EIO pins 1-4 (sorry I don't have the colors in front of me; pin 1 is white).
Install/open the LM-1 programmer software and set your LM-1 analog output to wideband mode, 0V=10AFR and 5V=20AFR and program it. Close the LM-1 programmer.
Connect the pigtail to the EIO interface, and the EIO interface to both your PC and the OBDII port. Open VCM Scanner, then View the table list. The bottom row is for A/D outputs. The two rows above them are for A/D inputs 1-4...
--------------------------
Input 1 | Input 2
Input 3 | Input 4
--------------------------
Output 1 | Output 2
-------------------------
Right click on the table cell which maches the EIO A/D channel (aka pin 1= inputl 1, etc) and add in your LM-1. Install your wideband in the exhaust and connect the various cables to the LM-1 handheld per Innovates directions and you should be good to go.
Hey JimMueller,
Exactly the detail directions I was looking for. Hope you don't mind if I email you if I have a problem. Seems pretty straight forward now. Thanks a bunch.
