Would you recomend leaving the fans on all the time?
when the fans are on all the time dont they run at a slower speed?

The stock fan table starts at 192*. If you want to gain access to lower table settings you must upgrade to a 2 bar operating system. This will get you down to 163*. When you upgrade to a 2 bar os you need to have a 2 bar map sensor or your car will barely run or you can simply go to the map settings under diagnostics>airflow and turn back the 3 map settings back to what your original 1 bar settings were.Originally Posted by Texsrt4

ok got it. i thought you said that you upgraded then reverted and didnt have to pay for the upgrade. i was a little confused. but this makes sense now. thanks for clarifying
i have stock tune 06 c6, while logging the other day, i noticed the fan was on (like 10-15%) even with the ect was around 180*, iat around 100*, ambient temp around 90*, & with the a/c off. any idea why the fan was on? thanks

Whats up with this Chris? ...EFI Live lets you do it.Originally Posted by Chris@HPTuners

If I use a manual fan switch and put it on high, I can maintain 175* on a 90* day with a 160* thermo. If you used 25,91... would it ever shut off?

Should work with those settings, you may have to use 24 instead of 25 for the low speed fans to turn off.
Keep in mind that a 160* stat will run at 172*F-176*F at highway speeds.

So do you think 25,49,51,91...... is the best option or are you saying 24,91? With the fans not being variable speed, I don't quite understand why it is just not off, both slow, both fast. Does it actually ramp up to slow speed from 0-25%?

Bill can this method work with LS7 ?
The settings in the screenshots above are for the GTO's which are a little different. They have two fans which are either both off, both on or only one on. The crossover from 1-2 fans on is 51%.
The vettes have one fan that gets pulsewidth modulated. So just set it to whatever duty cycle you want at different ECTs. Note that if you don't have the extended fan table and put anything in the 196 column the fan will always be on at least what you dictate there. So best case would be 196=0%, 201=90%. IMO.

If you have discrete fans you could try using the excel spread sheets I posted in this thread:
http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=30073
If you have PWM fans then they work differently so I think you would need to follow 5 Liter Eater's advice on the PWM settings.
It's personal preference what to put in the 201. Its been a while but I believe if you put anything in the 196 then it will command that until you pass into the 201 cell. So if you command 30% at 196 degrees then when you start the car in the morning the fan will be at 30% until it gets past 196. At least thats how I remember it working. I've been on the 2 bar OS for some time now so my fan tables are extended. Having said that I command 0% up until 180 degrees where I command 90% from there on in. KISS IMO

I would try 24 24 24 51 91 91...... The C6 Corvette has a single variable speed fan, your car has 2 fans that run in series circuit for low speed and in parallel circuit for high speed. So they are both either off, low speed or high speed.
What is your ECT at free way speeds? My car with a 160* stat runs around 172* to 176* at that speed.

I have a car with an ls-7 run by an E38 ecm. The fans are relay controlled. When they turn on the relays buzz. If i change fan type to discrete the fan runs all the time. How do I get the fan to turn on and off at specified temps without the relays buzzing?
