I've scanned my car, and saved my .bin, now what? I've read the help and I couldn't make heads nor tails from it. I know I'm going to get flamed for not searching, but I don't even know what to search for.

What do your LTFTs look like? Can you host the .cvs file from the scanner so we can see it? If not email it to me at [email protected] . No one is going to flame you here, don't worry.

How do I get a .CVs file? All I have is a .bin, do I need to record it going down the road? I'm really bad at this.. :-[Originally Posted by Screamn03

You are going to want to start using the scanner to log what is going on while you drive the car. When you are done logging you want to make sure you "scan->export data" which will produce a .cvs file that you can open in microsoft excel to view.

I'll do it Tomm. my neighbors aren't too keen on me starting my car at 10pm. They complain enough about the dog barking.

I just emailed those to you, thanks for taking time to look at them.

Taking a look at your logs this is what I see:
While in FTC22 (WOT) your LTFTs are 0. This is good because the computer is not adding any additional fuel based off of LTFTs.
The car seems to be a little fat WOT. Your 02s read about 950-960. While not totally acurate like a WB02 it still gives you a general indication that the car is running alittle rich WOT. At this point I wouldn't be to worried about it because it's safe and you have some other work to do first.
I suspect a large amount of IFR (Edit->Engine->Fuel Control->General->Injector Control->Flow Rate vs KPA) scaling due to the high negative LTFTs . Who tuned the car and do you still have the stock .bin file?
Your timing WOT looks kinda goofy to me.
3000 3250 3500 3750 4000-5300->where you let off
31 32 31 30 28.5
No KR so that's good. Just seems like alot and I don't know why whoever tuned it wanted it to start to decline.

So I guess the questions I have for you are:
1)Has the car been tuned?
2)Do you still have the stock .bin file?
3)Do you have any codes stored in the computer (use the scanner->tools)?
4)Anything the car does that you don't like (start funny, surging, ect)?

(1)I'm not sure if the car was tuned before me or not, as I'm not the original owner nor did I put the cam and heads on the car, so I'm not sure. I took the car to TEA and Brent (tuner) put a basic tune in it there, but at that point I had the MAFT on there. I have since pulled that off and sold it. (2)I do not have the "stock" .bin. (3) I'm getting:Originally Posted by Screamn03

P1637 - Generator L-Terminal Circuit
(4) It doens't do anything serious, when I first start and it's in closed loop, it runs way rich, and backfires.

You have an email about your P1637 code.

is there a way to isolate and view the Generator l terminal with HP Tuners? Thanks for looking at my files. So how do I correct the fuel trims?

For right now clear the codes and see if the P1637 comes back. Someone might have done something when they did the H/C install. Something tells me it will come back but start here just to make sure.
There is a stock '99 .bin file on horrist's site:Thanks for looking at my files. So how do I correct the fuel trims?
http://www.horist.com/hptuner/
Download it and start comparing tables to see what has been changed in you .bin, something tells me you are going to find the IFR screwed with. If you could send me a copy of your .bin to my email I'd be happy to take a look at it and tell you what I find. I'll also host it here that way others can comment also. BTW:Where is everyone else ????
Whatever you do, do not try and flash any .bins you get off of horrist site to your computer. Only flash the .bin you have out of your computer. You can copy and paste tables from .bin to .bin but you can not flash another persons .bin file to your computer. Just a word of caution in case you didn't already know or in case someone is reading this that doesn't already know.

Thanks for taking time out to help me, what could cause the P1637 error? The alternator was just replaced before I bought the car. Sometimes I get a SES and other times I do not, it's one of these. The .Bin is sent, the main spark vs airflow vs WOT looks out of wack to me and I don't even know anything about it.

After looking at my IFR and comparing to the stock .bin the first o number were the only ones that were off everything else was the same. As far as by a "large amount" I'm not sure.
0 VAC 5 VAC
Stock- 26.41 26.6
Mine - 22.63 22.63

Ok, this is what I see comparing to the stock '99 .bin the I posted above.
MAF:untouched-this is a good thing
VE:slight low rpm reduction, it's going to need that since you have a good sized cam, this doesn't mean it's optimal but it's going in the right direction
IFR:just like you stated above, only the first two are messed with->0 & 5 vac. I would say return those to stock values but I'm afraid it's going to lean out you WOT a/f ratio so leave it at this time until I or someone else comes up with a battle plan
High Octane Spark Table: This looks all hacked to hell, I think you are going to want to start from [s]scratch[/s] stock with this one
PE: Stock was 1.25 which equals 14.7/1.25=11.76A/F commanded
Yours is 1.14 which equals 14.7/1.14=12.89A/F commanded
If you do end up setting the IFR back to stock I would change you commanded A/F (PE) back to 1.25 for a margin of safety. After you see where your A/F ends up I'd work on getting it back to 12.6-12.8ish. Ideally you want your commanded A/F ratio (# in the PE) to match what you end up with at the tailpipe.
Let me think about this a little and I will get back to you with suggestions.
