    Normal.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

IAT means Intake Air Temps. Things that can raise IATs are ineffecient air intake systems on your car, but even the best CAI (cold air intake) will get heat soaked and start to raise intake air temps if you are standing still in traffic.

On my car I have a pretty good setup. It is short, insulated and takes advantage of my RAM AIR hood to get intake air down fast to within a couple degrees of ambient. When driving on the highway, its good enough to give me ambient temp air within a couple miles of driving at highway speeds... even after sitting in traffic for hours.

If it is 70 degrees outside, its VERY normal to expect 100+ degree IATs in traffic... especially in Texas. You can't bend physics. Want cold air in your car? Come on down to Montreal... its 21F here this morning and we got another 3 inches of snow yesterday.

Just out of curiousity, what intake setup are you using, and where is the AIT sensor located?

I use a MSP CAI with the hole for the RAM AIR hood. It is insulated with reflectix inside and out and I also wrap the pathway from the CAI to the TB in 2 layers of this stuff. It really helps.

The IAT is about 2-3 inches from the MAF (its actually between the MAF and TB). Some people make the mistake of thinking "let's fool the PCM" and extend the IAT down to a place where the air is cooler instead of what is REALLY coming into the engine. This just increases chances of higher KR happening as the engine receives the wrong information coming in from the sensors and compensates in the wrong direction. Bad move, IMHO.

    Some pics of my CAI:
