    Tuning 468 LS7 in 02 Z06

Hi All, a buddy is having his 468" LS7 shipped tomorrow. It'll go in an '02 Z06 with factory pcm. Engine builder says it deserves a 115mm TB, but his research indicates the biggest tb 'compatible' with his pcm is a 103mm, but still reportedly it's a nightmare to tune w the factory pcm. Any suggestions on parts selection to make tuning easier?

It’s very doable and not a problem if done right

Where would we find clear documentation on how to do it right? My understanding is that it needs to be an electronic TB, know of any larger than 103mm?

    Can do a Gen5 style 112… just did one one a gen4 zr1….
Since yours is Gen 3 will have to use most likely an x link adapter harness

    So a combination of this...

    ...and this?

If he doesn't cancel the Katech 103 TB, then all he needs is to get the correct TB calibration? I have no experience with PCMs later than Gen3 nor with ETB's, and I have no desire to tune on this very expensive engine. Owner has HPT but he has very little experience. We're in central Florida, what are the best options to get the entire tune properly dialed in? I'm personally nervous about all the self-proclaimed experts in the nation.

There are several of us on here that can dial it in for you.
You're already talking to Ben. He will do you a great job.

How about the 255/266 @.050" 113+3 cam that's coming in it, any concerns there for idle/cruise behavior? By my math, that's about 35* of overlap at .050".

That cam isn’t that bad for a 468 CI engine… if that was about 100 CI less bc little more of a challenge

Thanks, Ben. Here is what I know on the build so far:

    2002 Z06 with factory PCM
    468ci
    255/266 @.050 113+3 cam (my math says that's 35* of overlap at .050)
    11.8 compression
Brodix LS7 heads that "flow 410cfm at .650"
    Mamo MSD Atomic LS7 manifold
    Katech 103 TB
custom airbox in front of TB
Undecided on fuel rail and injectors. I think he's going to need 65-70lb@4bar injectors but other than that unsure what the best option would be overall
He's going with a dual fuel pump, new lines, regulator on the rail
Mantic 9000 Twin Ceremetallic (15lb flywheel)

Anything in that known parts list that would cause tuning headaches? It's not my car; my friend said his desired tuning plan fell through and I just said I'd see what I could do to help him find someone who could deal with the "C5 PCM can't control the larger bore electronic TB's very well" concern he's been told. But if that same person could handle all of it, that'd certainly be convenient if he felt reassured of the tuner. What's the going rate for such a N/A tune? Ben, where are you located geographically?
