Info for HPTuners owners on Solstice GXP

I've heard that there are difficulties in accessing the ECM for the 2007 Pontiac Solstice GXP (turbo model). I notice that car is not on the list of supported vehicles for Version 14.

So I thought I'd provide this link, it seems to give some information that might be helpful:

    http://www.solsticeforum.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=25942

I don't know how you people keep up with SO MANY vehicles. But it would be nice if you can add the GXP (and the twin Saturn Sky Redline) to your list. Thanks.

Yeah i don't think many if anybody supports that pcm yet..definitly would be nice, I've got a few friends who are holding out for a gxp.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

You betcha! On the Solstice Forum, the GXP owners are just raving about how great it is. I'm still happy with my 2006 N/A.

Does anything on that link help? Or is the GXP ECM even being considered by HP Tuners? Just wondering where we're going with this. Thanks.

its one of the new bosch controllers so its super early to tell, right now I believe they are dealing with the duramax LBZ & some other stuff...it may be on their to do list but cracking a new pcm can literally take months to sort through...the LBZ bosche controller has been out for ~2 years now I think so take that fwiw.

I agree, we need tuning ability for the RL and the GXP, and more importantly for the Aisin 5-speed Auto. We really need to be able to reprogram that.

That's just wrong, I wish there weren't any limitations. I can't touch the tranny on the new denali's or escalades either.

The tcms are getting so complex in the new vehicles they take just as long to crack as the pcm's...look how long it took for the Allison & A6 trannies to get supported...theres like 120 shift parameters alone...thats not even including the shift pressures. Just alot of work which takes alot of time...again the tranny control may come at some point but probably not anytime soon.

you have a better chance trying to crack it all for yourself is what foffs saying. Its like the english in WWII trying to crack german codes with pen and paper.

lol...thats not exactly what I was saying...what I AM saying is its not a simple task even with all the resources HPT has so if it does happen it will be a while.

I was referring to the "better off cracking it yourself" comment hehe...either way I probably should brush up on my history though

That has been out for some time now. I've done one of each. The trans is a PITA though...

Apparently the germans have cracked and tuned this ecu with a gain of about 40hp! Granted, it's an opel GT, but they use the same ECU with the Saturn Sky Redline / Solstice GXP. It's a Bosch MED 9.6 apparently. Part of their DI-motronic line. VW folks will be familiar with the MED 9.2.

    The results you ask?

    194KW (264 HP) 228KW (310PS) [~305 HP] about 41 hp gain

    Torque: 353Nm [260 ft-lbs] torque: 450Nm [331 ft-lbs] about 71 tq!!!

Tuning alone? You gotta get this ecu into your list of supported models!
