    3 VVe Tuning questions

Working on my modded 2017 Zl1. I decided to try my hand at VVe tuning for the 1st time. The car was tuned MAF only when the mods were done.

Question #1 When i have my VVe tune loaded the check engine light comes as i knew it would cause of the MAF fail. However, i didn't expect the car to be in Reduced Power Mode. I read somewhere that i need to adjust tables P1514 and P0068. Is this correct?

Question #2 Being that the car is a 10spd, i am having trouble getting the higher RPM data. By default i see the VE is supposed to go til 4000rpm. During my outing last night logging and adjusting i could only get to ~2200rpm. I varied my speeds up to 60mph and at times downshifted a few gears, but still only got to 2200 and some 2400 hits. How do you do the 2200-4000 range?

Question #3 Not sure if the issue i am experiencing is due to i am using the latest Beta release as of yesterday, but after i paste special and hit the Calc Coef button some of the area will come up with some Way out of range numbers. For Example, i had 2 row block of numbers to be adjusted 10% which was fine, but when i hit the Calc button that row changed from "Lets Say" 1800 to read very high like 29000 and in some cases it went to a negative large amount. Unfortunately the undo button is grayed out after u hit the calc button so i have to exit without saving and try again. Can anyone explain how to not have it do this? It has done it more than once.

Would appreciate any insight on these 3 issues i came across.

    thanks

Post up your tune and log and you will get better response.
Experienced tuners (which I'm not) can look at the tune/log and see something you might not have enabled to get out of MAF only and into SD
Then you might be logging channels that conflict with each other

This is a zone boundary issue. I came across this a few years ago and HPT never addressed it until i guess a few of their choice subscribers cried foul, but I think it's a combination of HPT and the algorithms in the PCM. Goat rope garage on youtube shows/explains how to redefine your zone boundaries.

#1 - the answer is already on the forum

#2 - Put the trans in manual mode and rev up in each gear

#3 - Only apply the changes to each zone boundary individually. Sometimes if you change too much of the VVE table at once, the math has a hard time working out the formula into something that will work. If you click "show zone boundaries" and then apply your changes in each boundary individually. Usually its only one problem area in a single boundary that causes the out of bounds numbers. If you do that zone individually it will usually solve the problem.

Ive actually never had the problem again since I remapped my boundaries. I have done them individually for a short time playing around with it. PITA mapping each zone individually, but the smoothing comes in much easier.

thanks for the replies and will watch the video. I would like to try using the method Smokeshow presented, but my Volumetric Efficiency isnt working and submitted a ticket to HPT to review. I only get it to read Zero. Another member with a 2020 zl1 has same issue with only reading zero. Smokeshow believes they have the pid messed up.
