2005-2006 GTO engine size in repository

I downloaded both to make sure something wasn?t wrong with just one, but both of these stock years should be 6L LS2 motors. The description says that as well in the repository. Yet when I open each file, the engine displacements are 5.7L. I downloaded a 2006 Corvette, and it is correct. I probably wouldn?t have noticed except I was trying to compare a GTO LS2 to a Corvette originally (btw, I was surprised how much was different like fuel injector flow...why is that?). Anyway, I just thought I?d ask if I?m missing something as these look wrong.

Don't know what you downloaded but .70819 L is the cylinder volume for the LS2. probably Corvettes came with different injectors--or they were changed by someone before they posted the tune. You can't trust the repository tunes for being stock, just because somebody says they are. I have seen a lot that are way different from stock---posted as stock.

That volume (0.70819 x 8) would then make an LS2, a 5.7L motor. An LS2 is 6.0L, so the volume should be 0.75 L per cylinder, which is what the corvette file shows. Both the 05 and 06 GTO have the smaller value. The 2004 GTO had an LS1, which should be 5.7L.

You are correct. I have several GTO files and the auto files are .708 and the 6 speed is .750---go figure.

I read somewhere that the computers and calculations used for this model, don’t really use the volume per cylinder for calculations (thus it can be wrong...somehow). Other generations, it matters as it uses that number for proper fueling (as you’d expect it to do).
