    Cam Position Sensor Signal Amplitude

I know the Cam Position Sensor is supplied with 12V on the 24X LS1 411 PCM. Is the signal returned to the PCM simply a 0V to 12V square wave??

    Thanks,

    Steve

    I doubt it. Probably 5v or 1v

most ecm electronics are designed around the idea of being useful when the battery is completely dead (~9volts)

I don't think 1v is going to give enough signal without noise with dead batt so my guess is on 5v

So, I have a 24X LS1 Crank Sensor and fired it up on the bench with 12V per the 2000 Camaro wiring diagram. Looks like it's a Hi/Lo signal with Hi being 12V, and lo being 0V. I think it's reasonable to assume the CMP is the same output to the PCM since it's a 12V Hall effect as well. Pretty darned sure my Ford 12V CMP sensor will supply what the 411 is looking for.

    Thanks for the input.

    Regards,
    Steve
