Tuning out the bad cat smell

I've added an aftermarket cam to my 08 Vette. Its a BTR stage 3 229 intake duration, 113 lobe separation with 10* overlap. Before the cam swap I never smelled the cats, now I can. The O2's are oscillating fine, I didn't have to do anything to the maf. STFT's are within 3%. The plugs look great also. All I've done to the tune so far is add startup airflow and base idle airflow along with disabling the misfire tables.
Is the overlap of the lobes causing the smell? I considered adding timing to the idle tables and to the lower rpm areas of the lo and high octane tables. My thoughts are the smell is due to unburned fuel.

Trying to wrap my head around this. So the injector is injecting fuel before the intake valve opens, and during overlap, some of this fuel is going out the exhaust?
