    HPtuners inside a virtual machine

Anyone ever try running HPTuners in a vmware virtual machine?

I've been wanting to test and try 4.1 without possibly messing up a production environment.

The software works and installs, but even though I connect the mvpi to the VM, HPT never detects it.

Yeah, it's connected and actually can see it in the guest machines device manager and shows working normally. Yet hpt never detects it.

Running VMware workstation fwiw. Probably missing something simple.

Try installing the drivers on the host as well as the guest.
