    keyspan help

    So I have a brand new dell e1505, and a keyspan usa-19hs....

I searched and searched lots of info, but not of the suggested settings are working. The pos will not see my cable.

I've tried every usb port on the laptop.... com ports 1,2, & 4.... Still no dice.

    Any ideas?

    Seppo,

I have an E1505 as well. I have a Keyspan USA-19W that I have used without any issues with serial port based products including HP Tuners and EFI Live.

When you open the Keyspan Serial Assistant (or equivalent software) what serial port is the Keyspan unit set to?

    Tim

I can get hyperterminal to connect to the keyspan just fine... The led goes solid green. Then when I fire up hyperterminal to com port 1 with those settings.

    I found this thread -

    http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showth...ble+locate+VCM

And I had 1.5.2 also installed... So I uninstalled both 2.1.12 and 1.5.2, rebooted, and then installed 2.1.12.... Still getting the unable to locate the VCM error.

2.1.12 works with the strait serial on my old laptop. But I can not do any logging with that laptop due to it being a pos.

I uninstalled 2.1.12, rebooted, then tried 2.1.0... I get the same error.

    Here are my keyspan settings:

Any ideas? I did notice the led flashed fast for 1/4 or 1/2 second, then went solid for a 1/4 or 1/2 second before the unable to locate VCM error is returned....

Ok so. I hooked up a modem and could talk to the modem via hyperterminal. So the keyspan works.

    NWTF?

Ok, so you are getting a VCM not found, and not the interface not found error so the interface is talking to the software.
Do you have another vehicle you can test with to rule that out?

BTW what vehicle is this you are trying to talk to?

An older version works on my old sony laptop that has a serial connection. I do not readily know anyone that lives near me to hook up to another 99 v6 camaro. I could try my 2005 GMC I4 Canyon if you want to hook me up with the license or whatever.

I hooked up the wb serial to the keyspan and fired up hypertermal, once connected i got like a heartbeat of apostrophes.
