    tune needed please

hello i have not tried tuning in years but i was hoping someone would have some advice or has a modified stock tune for a 2000 chevy 2500 with a 6.0l 4l80e. there is no work done to it yet it just seems lacking off the line and not as snappy. any help would be appreciated. thanks

    Post the tune.

Several simple things can be changed.

Here are just some simple changes I normally make.

Under Power Enrichment change both the hot/cold pedal enables to like 50-60% across the board. Factory is way up around 80-90%. Remove the 5,500rpm delay and set it to like 1,000rpm and zero out the 60 second time delay for PE. The EQ ratio itself you can leave as is or change it to the AFR you wish to run. If you are running 89+ octane to help keep knock away I'd run it around 12.0-12.3 AFR or around 1.200-1.215 EQ Ratio. A wideband would be ideal to truly dial in the fueling.

I also raise the max torque under the engine TM tab from 350 to 500.

The rest is kinda up how the engine is running and stuff like that. Adjustments to part throttle timing and things like that can give it an extra jump. It's a lot of trial and error.

You can turn tq management down or off being you have a 4l80e. You can also add a couple degrees timing in your full throttle area.

    It seems okay.

How come you changed the stoich to 13.70?

Does gas in your area really contain that much alcohol?

Add commanded AFR to your logs too.

Stoich isn't something you are suppose to change. You only need to set it to whatever fuel you are running. Most stations run less than 10% ethanol content so staying at 14.68 is just fine but if everything is 10% then most go to 14.2. The reason not to change the stoich is because you'd end up running it way richer than you have to because the stoich ratio is incorrect for the actual fuel you are running.

An example is say you had it at 13.70 and you were set to run 1.200 EQ ratio or 12.23 AFR under WOT. Now that 12.23 changes to 11.41 AFR because the real stoich ratio is still 14.68 but you set it much lower 13.70 when it shouldn't have been. Does that make sense?

I run 89 octane here in MN and it's between 3-8% all the time but I keep it at 14.68 because the small ethanol percent doesn't effect it any.

If you can get away with mid grade and moderate timing I'd do that.

quick question for a stock engine put if you put a cold air intake (basically a hot air) and a straight through y pipe with stock manifolds would you gain anything if you tune the engine or would it do nothing since its a stock engine?

there would likely be gains with the parts upgrade and they could likely be optimized with an edit to the calibration to suit

log and tune +1 on high and low octane main spark advance table and adjusted shitf speeds and shift rpm
drag tune 2.1 shift speeds (rpm).hpt
drag tune 2 (stop to full throttle).hpl

dont understand why there is a spark knock for 2-3 shift but not 1-2 shift
