    Can I read an "Edit" file?

    I need to read an LS7 Edit file with the HPT software. Is it possible??

    should be...guess it depends on if/how its locked.

    I opened up HPT and tried to open it directly off my desktop as a edit file. Didn't like it so I tried changing the extention. Didn't like that either.

    Its an LS7 file so I don't know if it makes a difference or not. Also I have been using the HPT on an LS7 car already.

    What did you use to get the file? Unless its a .hpt or .bin format, or reading directly from the ECU in question, HPT won't open it as far as I know.

    yeah i meant you can READ the file from the pcm...you cant open an .ls1 or .ls7 file or whatever their file extension is now. You'd need to hook to the vehicle & pull the file.
    It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...
