    How to soften throttle response at low speed?

    I have a 6.0 LS in a 68 Cutless. The throttle is so responsive at low speed that it's hard to not chirp the tires at stop lights. How do I tone it down? Thanks.

    Switching to a cable setup for sure would solve most of the problem but that's not exactly an option for you that's easy.

    Unfortunately that calibration is designed for a truck that weighs like 5,500-5,700lbs compared to your car that is likely 1,500-2,000lbs less so even light throttle movements are going to be "enhanced" because of the weight difference.

    The electronic throttle control limits under torque management are already so slow as it is. The ETC TPS MAX table already has the throttle opening very slow at low rpm to try and keep traction.

    Do you by chance have a log file of it driving around?

    A tune that is not super dialed in can also cause issues with drive ability, like if the airflow model is off and timing isn't all set right for the engine. If anything is aftermarket like exhaust, intake manifold or that kind of stuff it could all contribute in some way if not accounted for. And just from looking at the tune it looks almost 100% stock.

    That may help too, it's just such a fine line it seems sometimes. Go too far and it's REP mode like you flipped a switch lol.

    -I have entered the suggested values in both tables and will try it out tomorrow. Do I need to worry about the warning about incompatibility with the TAC module? If these values don't provide the driveability I'm looking for I'll post a log to see if it shows areas for further improvement. Thank you both for your guidance.

    If there is an issue it will REP. I do not believe it should with the adjustments made.

    I know it's not an easy change...but if you're not able to mellow things out in the tune, a higher stall converter can help quite a bit...and the added benefit of it being quicker on sticky tires when you do stand on it. I have a built 370 with a big turbo and a 90mm LS3 throttle body in my Silverado with no weight on the rear tires...but with the circle d 3400 stall it's actually easier/more controllable off idle than the stock 5.3 and stock converter were. The engines so responsive and has so much torque that it's really nice having the converter there to soak it up when I'm trying to blend in with "normal" people.
