    6L80E:2-3 shift hit limiter after 5-2 pwr downshift. 2-3 OK on normal WOT upshifts.

    I have a G8Gt, 6L80E. TVS1900 at 10 pounds of boost. 3.27 gears.
    My shifts 2-3, 3-4 both hit at about 5900-6000rpm. Limiter is set at about 6400. 1-2 is set for about the same but I can't go WOT in first w/o just spinning but once in 2nd I can go WOT and the 2-3 happens on queue. However, when I am cruising in 5th at 35-40 mph and go WOT, the trans DS 5-4-3-2 and runs up to the 2-3 but goes right past 6000 to 6400. The trans shutters and I see spark drop and TQ delivered drops from 640 to zero then comes back to 500 then drops and comes back and finally shifts to 3rd.

    Why is the 2-3 shift so different between normal WOT run-up vs after a 5-2 power DS? What am I missing?

    My WOT rpm setting is 5200|5200.
    WOT MPH is 48.5|48.5
    normal 94% and 100% throttle are 48.5|48.5

    These were dropped from 5400 rpm and 49.2 mph without seeing any improvement in the 2-3 shift after the power downshift.

    Those multi gear downshifts are killers of 6L80s with high hp. I tune it out and only let it downshift 1 gear.

    How does one tune out the multi downshift? The 5-2 is the only one that is causing me a lot of grief.

    Also interested in how to tune out the multi-gear downshifts. I have a similar problem with my trans with a stock tune. Floor it getting on the highway and it downshifts several gears and hits the rev limiter.
