    Question Actual fuel pressure for a 2001 Camaro V6 3.8L A4

    Hi guys,

My son and I picked up a 2001 Camaro V6 A4 T-Top SOM car for cheap as my sons first car. Overall the car is in good shape, runs good but runs rough sometimes. Car has about 152,000 miles on it and the engine has about 80,000 miles or so.

I changed the fuel filter and checked the fuel rail pressure and it's reading about 40psi at idle. If you pull the vac line off the fuel pressure regulator, it jumps up to about 49 PSI. I did other basic maintenance on it as well, plugs, wires, oil change, cleaned MAF, etc...

What is the idle fuel pressure suppose to be at with these cars?

Car is 100% stock as they come.

    Thx,

    Bill

    Yup, sounds normal to me.

At idle it should be around 40-45psi, under load it will rise some. The 3800's do not run a ton of fuel pressure compared to like a LS V8 that runs 58psi stock.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

I was thinking it should be 43 PSI at idle. (3 Bar) My son wants me to tune it, maybe someday!!! lol
