Bricked my ECM On the side of the road 2011 Silverado,

I was being a idiot and unplugged my cable while doing a read on my 2011 LTZ ECM. I'm tuning for a cam. the computer just said service trailer system And stabilitrac. I unplugged the cable and battery and tried to read it, and it failed. I then tried a write calibration, and it asked for my VIN but still failed. The truck doesn't turn over, the dash is stuck with all the lights on. I'm not sure what to do, I'm stuck on the side of the road.

Try to push in a factory file with a Tech II or MDI.

I guess I'll pay to get it towed to the dealer and try that.. I didn't think HP tuners would just brick something like that.. I was reading it not writing.. I'd also think there'd be a way to recover. This sucks lol

Did you try basic stuff like disconnecting the battery, touching the positive and negative terminals together while disconnected from the battery?

    Key Cycling?
    Push a Factory tune?
or the Stock tune that was on the ECM..

Disconnect the battery for 10-20 minutes. That should reset the comms and you can try again. It's pretty hard to brick the E38 ECM's.

I've had luck with unplugging the connectors from the ECU with my E40.

I reset the battery and it didn't help. I then plugged a OBD2 scanner in and surprise surprise I had no communication. What fixed it was I grabbed my stock tune and did a "write all" using HP tuners, and it took like 30 minutes but when it was done the truck fired right up and is back to normal.

Pull your BCM fuse, wait, then put it back and try again.
