2007 gt500 large maf tube oscillating maf signal engine failsafe mode

Car has a large whipple, monoblade built motor etc.. I have it tuned well other than the occasional engine failsafe mode when taking off from a stop with light to medium throttle since changing from a 127mm maf tube to a 148mm for more range. I have tried everything I know of to cure this. The only thing I think I might have missed is a light maf voltage oscillation I have at low load with the 148mm maf tube that I didn't have with the 127mm. Any ideas? Also, is there a way to filter this oscillation out and how to do it? Thanks

No DTCs are shown after going into failsafe.

Tune, log and then what your calling a large whipple is what per say? The MAF tube that came with the whipple kit should have been more than big enough... Unless you have a built 5.4l I'm not sure the engine will handle much more than 800ish to the tires and the 2.9l whipple will get close to that easily enough around 18psi on these...

I personally just want to know what that thing puts down I can definitely see that pegging the MAF...

Solved the oscilation problem with foam diffuser in ram air from hood. Still have failsafe issue and is worse with smaller blower pulleys. Made 997 whp at 24psi through the 4l80e auto yesterday.

So no dtc but you have a wrench light? What is your wheel torque error in that area?

I don't have a wrench light. Says Engine Failsafe Mode in the information display. Resets by turning car off then on. You can see the wheel torque error in the logs when I accelerate from a stop. Blips as much as -300 for a fraction of a second. I tried changing the indicated torque table by as much as 30 pct. doesn't seem to help.

Try making a graph and log your wheel torque error against the x and y axis of your torque table where the error is high make adjustments to the torque table then make sure you inverse it correctly on your inverse table....if you search there are a few threads on this. You will have to test and see how raising or lowering the torque affects the wheel torque error. I cant look at your file and log but ive also messed with the sd settings before and if there way off it will put it in failsafe with no light or wrench.
