    GM High Tech Performance...

Ok i've read the article who hasn't right? So are they going to do the group a favor and upload the before and after bins?? Glad to see that they were able to gain so much out of what I thought would be the super tuned OEM car.

Ok maybe i miss understood everyones post.. Here is the wrap. They take a 2006 Z06 bone stock, take it over to STP dyno run it, then use HPTuners on it version 2.1.6 so yeah they are behind the game some. Then they talk about all the goodies it can do which most of you all here already know about. Last they lay down that they gained almost 16hp and 14lb/ft tq... all that at the wheels!!! And the thing that got me is that on a car that is supercar status as the newest Z06 I would have thought that not much would be there to be gotten via tuning on a stock unit but I was wrong. The other exciting thing is 16hp at the wheels is like 30hp at the flywheel or so I suspect. I just wonder how much power can be obtained from my stock 01 Z28? There are some who say not much on stock but hey 16hp from a stock Z06 is something.

    Anywho

Just thought i'd share what i'd read and see what the GM V8 Gas dudes had to say.

There's even more in the 2006 Z06 when you put some Kooks 1 7/8" LT headers on it:
    Stock 456.65 RWHP/424.00 RWTQ
    Kooks 494.62 RWHP/458.14 RWTQ

I've tuned at least 4 of them and they are all within 3 HP & 5 ft/lbs of each other.

That's not too shabby of an increase!
