Starting in Second Gear

Some cars, like MBs, will start off in "Comfort" mode in second gear for a smoother feel and less shifting.

I am wondering if that is possible with a car like a C7Z with the A8 in Touring mode......

It downshifts from 3rd to 1st at 6mph stock but I am wondering how to get it to shift from 3rd to 2nd and just stay out of 1st.

If I change the downshift point to 0 in the 1st gear row, wont it still go into 1st, just when I am completely stopped rather than before I am stopped?

Should I try -5mph and override the limit warning?

In the Vs, if you don't want it to downshift, you set the downshift speed to zero. That's how they are stock in Drive mode (Sport mode will drop to first).

yes, it works. just need to adjust the downshift into 2nd gear a little bit lower than stock so it is smoother but it does stay out of first gear now.
