NOOB cam tunning questions 09 silverado

For some reason my post keeps getting denied, maybe since I'm not approved, gonna edit it in here if I can...some none sense about URL's, must be some mistake, or a period with a space.

FINALLY...please see below, apparently too long, and I think it thought the cam specs were links

    Hello

Sorry about the book I'm about to write. So other than a K&N drop in, my 09 silverado 5. 3 LMG is bone stock, for now. I have to replace the leaking head gaskets, and Went ahead and ordered a cam since im tearing it down that far. The cam is from engine power systems, and is a variant of their "trucktorque1". Specs are 214/220 at . 50, and . 600/ . 564 with 112 lsa. While it is apart I will be milling . 030 off the heads, and gasket matching the intake ports. I may also tweak the ex. PORT a bit as well, there is some low hanging fruit on that side from what I've read. I will also be deleting AFM, and the truck doesn't have VVT. So all those parts are on the way; lifters, gaskets, oil pump o rings, push rods, springs, blah blah blah. I have also ordered an AEM wideband which I will wire in to the A/C pressure port on a 3 way switch. I am thinking I will mount these inside my upper glove box.
really find what I was after there.

Let me start off by saying I have a very very very basic understanding of how to tune, but I am getting a bit desperate since none of the "professional tuners, or e-tuners" will even respond to emails.

So it seems that the common advice is to avoid driving it without a tune, although I wouldn't think I should be that godawful far from "safe".

Question is, couldn't I go ahead and start driving it as long as the wideband is happy, or is there some tables I should go ahead and fatten up before I even try starting it (and by how much?)

I plan to have it dyno tuned, the only place I can find near pittsburgh is called domin8 tuning, and they haven't got back to me yet.

I would however still like to have a tune I can tinker with and learn, and I'm not sure if they will lock thier tune or not.

I also have some parameters that are not logging on my graph, and I'm not sure why (speed, IN duty%, O2, MAP, IN B1&B2, and Cur.gear) although just occurred to me some of those could be from a bad O2 sensor that I have set to "no error report"(new sensor is on way, just did this so my remote start works).

I also get an awful lot of knock retard for a stock vehicle. I can post up a log and my tune lAyer on when I get home, but there's not much point in messing with any of it till after the cam swap and my new O2 is in.

Also, what do the patterns x,y&z denote in the transmission tables?

TIA for any help, and for the record, I did try the search feature, just couldn't really find what I was after there.

Yeah you could start driving it without a tune as you begin to work on it. The motor won't be extremely happy but it should run, fueling is going to be pretty far off with the mods you are doing.

Remove the channels that don't work and re-add them to the main channels display, some of the generic sensors don't work.

Knock retard while stock is pretty normal, they run these vehicle with knock "built" into the tunes with a lot of predicited knock in them as well. You'll end up wanting to remove the burst knock as that can get in the way.

Make sure the wideband is install before the cat converters.

X, Y and Z are like different modes for the transmission shift tables. X is going to be what it ues all the time, Y might be a tow haul settings and Z could be a over temp shift tables. So long as you change the X shift tables you will be just fine.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

To get you by, until it can be tuned correctly, turn of speed density, set it to disable at like 200 rpms, and run maf only. There are tons of threads about doing this, and tuning maf. Most other stuff will be happy, as long as you don't get crazy with the throttle. You may have to add about .400 of airflow across the board in the idle airflow tables to help it cold start.
I have installed this cam in a ton of trucks, and they are really good "torque" cams and idle very much like stock.
