Thread: switched to e85 wanna read lambda

switched to e85 wanna read lambda

I had my wideband setup thru my egr input when on 93. now that I switched to e85 I wanna read lambda. wideband shows afr still on scanner even tho I changed from afr to lambda on math setting. I found commanded error but not sure how to get lambda error. sure it had to do with wide band reading afr still.

You also need to switch the Wide band to output lambda, many do not support that function and you if not, you have to develop a math parameter that does that by changing the AFR output from the Scanner lambda (WB reading/Stoich AFR value). which wide band are you using? Then you just change the WB AFR math parameter expression you generated to include the new WB lambda expression. Remember, in a Math parameter expression, you can not insert another Math Parameter so uou have to write it in long hand. Take that expression and develop a Lambda Error math parameter as 100*((WB math expression)-(CMD EQ))/CMD/EQ Your brackets may vary depending on the final math expressions.

so correct me if I'm wrong but the reading on my wide band gauge is what's gonna show on scanner. so if I'm reading 12.0 I'm gonna get 12.0 unless I make the math to get it to convert to lambda.
I have a aem uego heard there is a button on back but display didn't come with any lambda background

would it be ok to just keep it all setup as afr?

I put e85 in for first time changed stoich to 9.80 and I'm getting 11-12 on wide band. not sure if it's really rich or just cus it's not reading lambda. I read that the wide band reads lambda n doesn't know the fuel being used so if that's the case it is rich.
P01 pcm no flex fuel sensor.

Which AEM? part number? With E85, or any percentage you really want to tune in Lambda.....need to see the difference in the transform equations from AFR to Lambda.

Here is the calculator from our Tutorial/Training Package....

Yes looks right based on the 4110 model specs. Close the bracket after the 7.xxxx...

Got it working only have short log from late last night. my error doesnt seem right its showing actual difference vs percentage.
also not sure where the .238 Came from on eq in math.
will i paste special same as i did with afr error even tho the percentage will be much smaller due to range of lambda

I meant to type parenthesis and it was just to address the first bracket at the start of the expression.

ed why would my lambda error be off? (pic above)
and will i be able to paste special on ve changes since the percentage will be much smaller due to range of lambda.

thanks for ur help. was gonna drain e85 n go back to 93 this a headache lol.

Again, need to even out the parenthesis..here is the expression ... 100*((([2811.10]/7.3167)+0.683)-[50118.238])/ 50118.238 ...

The error is the same regardless of AFR or Lambda because one is based on Commanded AFR and the other on Commanded Lambda.

ok fixed that last night. error still seems wrong. it is showing actual difference and not a percentage like with afr.
